About Nepal

Nepal's closest major trekking region to Kathmandu, and one of its least crowded. The trail follows the Langtang River from Syabrubesi through forest home to red pandas and langur monkeys, into the Tamang and Tibetan-influenced villages of Langtang and up to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m), a monastery village ringed by glaciers below Langtang Lirung. A rest day at Kyanjin Gompa leaves room for an optional side hike to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for wide Himalayan views.
