The classic trek to the foot of the world's highest mountain. A short scenic flight into Lukla drops you into the Khumbu, from where the trail climbs steadily through Sherpa villages, rhododendron forest and high alpine terrain to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the Kala Patthar viewpoint (5,644m) for the closest possible views of Mount Everest. This 12-day itinerary is built around two dedicated acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, giving your body time to adjust safely to the altitude.

Early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m). Begin trekking, descending gently to Phakding (2,610m) along the Dudh Koshi river.

Trek through pine forests, crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi, with your first views of Everest before the climb into Namche Bazaar (3,440m).
