Best Places to Visit in Shimla Manali 5 Days Tour
Mall Road: The real heart of Shimla, Mall Road, is a very lively promenade with colonial-era buildings, shops, and cafes lining it. Take a stroll up this pedestrian-friendly street to get the feel of this lovely town. It is worth shopping for local handicrafts and enjoying views of the mountains. Visiting the historic Gaiety Theatre and Christ Church will also be time well spent.
Jakhoo Temple: Situated right on top of Jakhoo Hill, this ancient Hanuman temple offers brilliant vistas of Shimla and the range of the Himalayas. The 108-foot-high statue of Hanuman dominates the tall, imposing scene of sight. The steep climb or ropeway ride to the temple itself forms an adventure.
Kufri: One of the most beautiful hill stations, only 13 km from Shimla, Kufri is known for its picturesque beauty and sports activities in winter. It allows one to take a horse ride through apple orchards, indulge in skiing during winters, or simply visit the Himalayan Nature Park to glimpse native wildlife in their natural habitat.
Solang Valley: This is a haven for adventure seekers. Solang Valley promises action throughout the year: it is perfect for skiing in winters and paragliding, zorbing, and trekking galore in summers. Visiting this place is a must owing to its scintillating vistas, even for those not fond of adventure.
Rohtang Pass: This seasonal mountain pass is a gateway to several fine views of glaciers and peaks facing the Lahaul Valley. It is also the site of tons of snow activities, in addition to photography. The journey to Rohtang, with winding roads and dramatic landscapes, is a memorable journey.
Vashisht Hot Springs: These natural hot springs with medicinal properties are simply a great resting and rejuvenation point. Some ancient stone temples of Lord Rama and Vashisht Rishi, not too far from this place, have cultural significance in this serene spot.
Old Manali: It is a somber village that offers quite a lot of contrast to the busy New Manali. With its laid-back and bohemian vibe, Old Manali is best walked through in its narrow lanes lined with cafes, boutique shops, and guesthouses. The place is known for its lively backpacker scene, and this view oversees the Beas River.
The Ridge: This is a vast open space in the heart of Shimla, offering scenic vistas of mountains around and forming a hub of activities, mainly during festivals. The Christ church by Neo-Gothic architecture and the library building by Tudor type on flanks of the Ridge make it a beautiful spot not only for photography but also for leisure walks.
Naggar Castle: This fairytale-like castle is located in the picturesque village of Naggar, dating back to the 15th century with Himachali and European architectural influences. Today's castle-turned-heritage hotel accommodates a small museum and picture gallery. From the grounds, one will get fantastic views over the Kullu Valley with the Beas River.
Great Himalayan National Park: Although a bit of a detour from Manali, this UNESCO World Heritage site is worth the trip for nature enthusiasts. Home to diverse flora and fauna, including many endangered species, the park offers trekking routes through pristine forests and alpine meadows.
Hidimba Devi Temple: Not to be confused with Hadimba Temple, this is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimba, the wife of Bhima from Mahabharata. Surrounded by tall deodars, the unique architecture and tranquil surroundings of this temple have made it a 'must visit' on the spiritual trail.
Manali Sanctuary: Situated just behind Manali town, this wildlife sanctuary is truly a nature lover's haven. Many Himalayan wildlife inhabits it, such as musk deer and snow leopards, offering scenic hiking trails through dense forests of oak, deodar, and walnut trees.
